He was abandoned -- left tied to the gates of an animal shelter, after hours, alone in the dark.
This terrified dog was rescued by GRRI-NJ and taken to a veterinarian for neutering, removal of a tumor which turned out to be non-cancerous, vaccination update, testing for both heartworm and Lyme disease, treatment for severe flea infestation, double ear infection and conjunctivitis in both eyes. He was given a clean bill of health and declared fit for adoption.
But first he needed to go to doggie boot camp for a crash course in obedience training!
Rob and Brandi saw his story posted on our website and their hearts went out to him. They knew they could give this 7-year old male a loving home and their undivided attention. They asked if they could go visit him in boot camp to get to know him and have his new home ready for him when he was released. It was love at first sight for all of them.
When Max came home, he had a houseful of toys to play with, new feeding bowls, all kinds of treats, and the best comforters in the house to sleep on.
And best of all, his new mom Brandi was home all day to play with him and love him!
