Malibu, 6-years-old, was an owner turn-in when his person  started a new life and Malibu wasn't getting the attention he was used to. The owner felt that Malibu deserved more than he could give.

It was a heartbreaking decision for the owner as he prepared to give Malibu up for adoption. He didn't want to put him in a shelter so he contacted us. He had him checked by his veterinarian so Malibu could go to a new home with a clean bill of health.

Malibu was adopted by the Ford family. And it was love at first sight. The Fords had lost their Golden "Nugget" (who was rescued from a shelter) in '97 at the age of 9 to liver cancer. After almost a year, they felt that they "reached a point where they need to love another golden". So they contacted our rescue .

Malibu adapted easily. He quickly became a full fledged member of their household and was, as Malibu's mom said, "...nobody would have been able to convince us that we could ever love another dog as much as Nugget. Malibu made us believers....."

With sadness, we note that Malibu has passed away.
