Hannah was only 3-years-old and had already been considered for  rescue three times. She lived with a young family who had a new baby, a large yellow lab and 4 cats. They were simply overwhelmed with the  two large dogs,  knew they couldn't keep her ... but just couldn't give her up!

Eventually, they made the decision to place Hannah through GRRI-NJ.

Hannah was something of a "food junkie," in dire need of a weight loss plan,  and she also required daily doses of glucosamine and chondroitin for her mild hip dysplasia.  The best home for her would be one with older children, a stay at home Mom and no other dogs ... so she could get the full attention she craved.   But at the time, this wasn't an easy adoptive family to find!

One of our volunteers had recently lost her beautiful 14-year old Golden and felt a tremendous void in her life. Her family met the desired criteria, and off they went to meet Hannah. Hannah took to their 9-year old daughter right away, showering her with kisses and making her laugh.

Home Hannah went to her new forever home.

Originally named Anna, Hannah had to have her name changed since her new "sister's name" was Alanna. Whenever anyone called Alanna, guess who came barreling into the room first?

Hannah often goes for leisurely walks around her neighborhood. Admittedly, in her excitement, she mostly walks her family for the first few minutes. But Rome wasn't built in a day, and she does eventually settle down and allows her owners to set the pace.

She also plays in the fenced in yard with Alanna and hides out with her in all of her "secret places."   And she swims in the family pool every summer, which is great for her hip dysplasia.

As her adoptive Mom said soon after Hannah had gone to live with them, "Hannah is a keeper.  It feels wonderful to have DOG LOVE in our home again!"
