Imagine how bewildering it must be for a one-year old Golden Retriever to suddenly be thrown out of his house "because the kids are tired of him".

That's exactly what happened to Buddy.

Then we got an adoption application from Steve and Peggy Manning. In their letter accompanying the application, they stated that "We can't think of a better way to bring a second dog into our home than to rescue one that has been abandoned or needs a new and loving home". This was music to our ears…and Buddy's.

The Mannings and their Bernese Mountain Dog, Ozzie, came to meet Buddy. That was it. Buddy and his new family hopped into the car and away they went. A dog trainer that comes on a weekly basis is helping Buddy remember what he learned in obedience school, he enjoys hiking in the woods and lots of long walks with his new pals.

"Buddy is a very sweet and loyal dog and seems to be happier every day."

He's in his new forever home.
