If only you hadn't eaten the kitchen towel on that fateful day in January, then none of this would have happened, and you would still be alive. Of course then we would never have had the privilege of adopting you and loving you, but I would certainly have offered that option up as an alternative to your dying so young at the age of three years.

It seems that we shared a lifetime together & certainly more than just a mere two months. And so much of that time was spent in the hospital. But when I look back at the pictures we have of you, I can see that even though we couldn't heal your body, we certainly healed your spirit. We developed a special bond that will never be broken.

I miss cradling you in my arms after your feedings; the smell of your fur on the top of your head as you fell asleep in my arms with your head tucked under my chin; the feel of the soft skin on your belly, painfully thin as it was. And most of all I miss the love generating from your beautiful brown eyes.

Mystery, we both miss you terribly. We should have had the chance to grow old together. But it was not to be. Knowing that you are healing in the Garden of Animals, being cared for by your guardian spirit Adam, is very consoling. And we look forward to you coming back to share your next life with us and til death do us part.

You are forever in our hearts.
