Adopting Jesse was a complete fluke
but turned out to be a blessing and one of the best things to happen to
us ...
From the beginning ... Our
daughter's friend found a dog wandering in our village. He brought the
dog to her and of course she fell madly in love. She was a beautiful
10-month-old Husky, but a wanderer. She managed to escape several times
but fortunately was always found and brought home. Our daughter asked us
if we would keep her in our home for a while. We did and became
instantly attached. We had her fixed and slowly fell in love with her.
However, not too long after, our front door was opened and guess what?
She took off like a bat out of he__ and all the searching, calls, ads,
etc could not bring her back. We were heart broken. It was then we
realized how much we enjoyed having a pet in our home. Now here comes
our "Jesse" girl. My supervisor's son-in-law's Golden had puppies. Ten
of them and they were up for adoption. My husband, daughter and myself
went to his house to adopt one of these dogs. One was more beautiful
then the other. Jesse however walked right up to me and started to untie
my laces. Well the rest is history. I fell in love with her instantly
and I knew right there and then she was coming home with us. She was
easy to train, smart as a whip, had very few accidents, if any. Can't
remember anything bad. She was the absolute love of our lives. So
beautiful, smart, devoted. My daughter used to tease that if she could
climb into my womb she would. We had ten and a half beautiful years with
her. Because of her we have since adopted another Golden. Although he is
so very loving and special in his own unique way, he can never and was
not meant to replace Jesse. Dogs are Gods creatures that ask for so
little and give so very much. We have a great deal to be thankful for.
