My sister and I brought Hunter home on a cold winter's day in December of 1992. But it didn't take long for him to warm our hearts.

In his puppy years, Hunter did have his moments of mischief. Like stealing my Mom's glasses and chewing on them, taking socks, slippers, sneakers, etc. Once, he even ate a knee-high stocking; luckily, with no serious repercussions.

He really loved going in the pick-up truck, to the park in particular. And he endeared himself to people there. They would frequently comment on what a nice looking dog he was. Once, he jumped up onto the picnic table where a group we got to know pretty well were sitting.

All the children in the neighborhood took to Hunter well also. People walking other dogs would stop briefly so they could frolic. My sister's Rottie and Hunter would chase each other around the outside of the house 3 or 4 times over.

In 1998, we started doing pet visiting at a nursing home, something he loved to do.

He was a faithful companion and a friend to all. I'll miss him.
